Information Links
There are some sites out there where you can find not only the answers and products you want, but connect with some of the other cool people and organizations on this earth who are into screenprinting, education, and culture. Some of these sites service the artistic community, some the screenprinting and specialty imaging industry. Some are educational, others just interesting.
Gigposters Gigposters is the site if you are into rock posters. Last time we looked there were over 60,000 posters archived from around the world, every band you can think of. Truly amazing and run by Clay from Calgary. The discussion boards are always entertaining and the poster artists are the best in the universe. A really good screenprinting forum with lots of ghetto and DIY info.
Global Print Studios London Print Studios and Global Print Studios provide a searchable database of printmaking studios and education facilities around the world. This is quite a resource.
Specialty Graphic Imaging Association With links to suppliers through their virtual trade show, Screen Printing Technical Foundation, and member printer database, this is the largest screenprinter organization in North America. Any schools or printers who are serious about screenprinting, Large Format Digital, etc, should join (members get access to every tech article ever written plus an assist line for problem solving) and also attend their annual SGIA show (next one in Orlando next Sept)
Graphic Comm Central The hub on the web for graphic communication educators and students.
Screenprinting Magazine This magazine has been covering the North American screenprinting market since 1953 and has a good interactive website called Screenweb full of many articles on a range of subjects by the best writers in the biz – I have a monthly column too! A good source of used equipment in their forums under classified.
